Daryl Heald

Principal

  • Daryl has been involved in family office and generous giving organizations since 2000. While at Maclellan, Daryl helped to launch several organizations: Generous Giving, Giving Wisely and Global Generosity. The majority of his time now is spent in speaking and encouraging business people in the global financial capitals to be generous. He has worked with families on six continents regarding their philanthropy. He also is actively investing in private equity deals with a particular emphasis on businesses with social impact. Daryl currently serves on ten boards in both the for-profit and not-for-profit arenas.

Chris Maclellan

Principal

  • Chris Maclellan serves as a Principal at 100 Fold, advising families on investing and impact investing. He serves as Chairman of the Maclellan Foundation, and Chairs the Mission Related Investment Committee, which oversees a $30 million Christian impact fund that invests in global projects which fulfill the Foundation’s mission while seeking a market rate of return.

    After working for a family business, Provident Life & Accident Insurance Co, Mr. Maclellan focused his career on private equity investing and starting new ventures. He founded an insurance brokerage firm, an Internet venture, a real estate company, and an advertising company. Mr. Maclellan graduated from Wheaton College in 1986 and from the University of Virginia (Darden) in 1991. He has served on dozens of for-profit and nonprofit boards.

    Mr. Maclellan is married to Susan and they have four sons, three daughter-in-laws, and five grandchildren. They attend Calvary Chapel Chattanooga.

Ben Peays

Principal

  • Ben brings over 25 years of experience in building and leading both for-profit and non-profit organizations. In the business world, he has served as a partner at Trivium, a global private investment firm, and GlorTex, an investment banking firm specializing in healthcare mergers and acquisitions. Ben is also the Founder and former CEO of BlackBox, a tech company, and Beacon, a national advertising agency. Additionally, he served as CFO and CEO at Summer Moon, a national coffee company.

    In the non-profit sector, Ben has recently served as the Managing Director of BLESS, funding work among UPG's in the 10/40 window. He was also the founding Executive Director of The Gospel Coalition and the Henry Center at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

    Ben holds a PhD in Systematic Theology and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a Doctor of Ministry in Organizational Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a BA in Business/Economics and Bible/Theology from Wheaton College.

    Ben resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife and their four teenage children.

Frances Sheffield

Vice President of Family Legacy

  • Frances brings a deep-rooted passion for generosity and family stewardship to her role with 100 Fold Giving. Growing up traveling the world, Frances experienced firsthand the diverse expressions of generosity and witnessed the Kingdom of God at work in different cultures. This global perspective has profoundly shaped her approach to philanthropy and family wealth.

    She earned her BS in Nursing from Samford University and a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University. Frances has experience in primary care, serving at Christ Health Center, as well as in a large cardiology group in Birmingham, AL. 

    In addition to her professional achievements, Frances serves as a Trustee for the Maclellan Foundation and is a Board Member for Generous Giving, where she actively contributes to advancing philanthropic initiatives and fostering a culture of generosity. 

    Frances, her husband Lawrence, and their two children, Gray and Lottie, have recently settled in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, where they are actively engaging with their community and embracing the area’s unique charm.
